What to Have Ready Before We Walk Your Remodel

When we come out for an initial walk-through, the more clearly you can describe what you want, the more useful our estimate will be. Here’s what helps.

1. A short written summary

Two or three sentences for each room or project area. “Kitchen: open up the wall to the dining room, new cabinets and quartz tops, keep current floor.” That’s enough.

2. A rough budget

Even a range. “Somewhere between $80K and $120K” tells us a lot. It’s not so we’ll spend up to your max; it’s so we can flag scope choices early instead of building an estimate that’s way off.

3. A few reference photos

Houzz, Pinterest, Instagram, magazine pages — whatever has a look you’re after. Three or four is plenty.

4. Decisions you’ve already made

“We definitely want a gas range” or “no, the powder room stays where it is.” Knowing what’s settled lets us focus the conversation on what isn’t.

5. A list of pain points

What about the current space drives you crazy? “There’s never enough counter space” or “the shower is too small for two people” or “the laundry is in the garage and I’m done with it.” Pain points are the most useful information you can share.
