Whole-home remodels are the largest projects we take on short of new construction. They make sense when a house has good bones but tired finishes, an outdated floor plan, or systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) at the end of their life.
What a whole-home remodel typically includes
- Layout changes throughout the main floor: opening up kitchens, removing walls, creating better flow.
- Full kitchen and bath remodels.
- New flooring, trim, doors, and paint throughout.
- Electrical and plumbing updates — rewiring, repiping, panel upgrades.
- HVAC replacement, often switching from forced-air to heat pump or adding mini-splits.
- Insulation and air-sealing upgrades.
- Window and exterior door replacement.
How long and how much
A whole-home remodel on a 2,000–2,500 sq ft home is usually 4–6 months of active construction. Pricing in the Portland market typically lands in the $200K–$500K+ range depending on finish level and how much structural work is involved. We’ll give you a clear, written estimate after a thorough walk-through.
Living through it
Some clients move out, some stay in part of the house. We sequence work so a livable section stays usable when possible, and we keep dust and debris contained with plastic barriers and daily cleanup.
