Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Keyser Construction is licensed by the Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB) and carries general liability and workers’ comp insurance. We’re happy to send you our CCB number and a current insurance certificate when you ask.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes. For most projects we’ll come out, walk the site, and then put together a written estimate at no charge. For very large or design-heavy jobs (full custom homes, complex additions), we may quote a small design fee up front and apply it to the project if you move forward.
What does an estimate include?
Scope of work, materials, labor, anticipated timeline, and what’s specifically not included. If something is an allowance (like a tile selection or appliance budget), we call it out so you know where you have flexibility.
How long does a typical remodel take?
It depends on scope. A bathroom remodel runs 3–6 weeks. A kitchen runs 6–10 weeks. A whole-home remodel or a sizable addition is usually 3–6 months. We’ll give you a realistic schedule with your estimate.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. We pull all required permits and schedule inspections. You don’t need to drive to the city or county yourself.
Do you do design work too?
For most kitchen, bath, and addition projects, yes. For very ambitious designs we’ll bring in an architect or designer we’ve worked with before, and we coordinate with them through the build.
Do you take on small jobs?
For existing clients, we do. Our handyman service handles smaller repair and maintenance work for folks we’ve already built or remodeled for. For brand-new clients, we’re usually a better fit on larger projects.
What areas do you cover?
Portland and the surrounding metro: Beaverton, Tigard, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Tualatin, Wilsonville, Sherwood, Oregon City, Happy Valley, Milwaukie, Gresham, and the towns in between. See the full service area.
What kind of payment schedule do you use?
For most projects we use a milestone-based schedule: a deposit at signing, progress payments at agreed-upon stages, and a final payment after the punch list is complete. Specifics are written into your contract.
